Bio:

Judith Kajiwara lives and works in the culturally-diverse city of Oakland, where she is constantly inspired to create. She discovered the power of angel making during the 2001 holiday, and has since evolved with her angels as they grew larger in grace and beauty. In addition to making angels, Judith is a seasoned choreographer and dance teacher, who now focuses entirely on teaching and performing Butoh--a Japanese improvisational, meditative dance. She is also certified in hypnotherapy and spiritual energy healing using reiki and crystals. She is committed to bringing more awareness to the interconnectedness between the expressive and healing arts. When she's not working, Judith escapes to the mountains with her family, and keeps physically and spiritually fit by practicing hip-hop dance and kundalini yoga. As a mother and grandmother, Judith is very blessed--living her purpose by wearing many hats while still clinging to her dreams.

Mission/Artistic Statement:

"As a self-taught artist, whether dancing or creating angels, I am guided foremost by Spirit. I believe angels play an important role in our day-to-day lives. Whether we're aware of them or not, they're always near--offering us protection, guidance, healing, inspiration, hope, laughter and joy. Influenced by my experience as a third-generation Japanese American growing up in a colorful community of beautiful cultures, my vision of angels is that they represent the universal connection between all people in our global family. My hope is that each angel will be a reminder that there are no veils between ourselves and others. We are all One--and as One, we must bring a higher vibration of peace, love and light to our planet. For me, making angels, and working in the performing and healing arts, are all joyful acts of gratitude--gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to this higher purpose."
