Photography was her hobby for many years and became her business in 2005 when she moved across from Lake Merritt in Oakland and was inspired by the lake and its ever-changing faces. In 2006 she was hosen as a semi-finalist in the Alameda County ‘Call for Art’ Competition, the first art competition she had ever entered. Her work is featured in several professional offices in the Bay Area and in local bookstores and will be exhibited at the Garden Center at Lake Merritt on May 26, 2007.

Born and educated in the US, she lived abroad, primarily in Israel, for twenty-three years. She taught university and in-service training courses in the States, Germany and in Israel, concentrating on human resource development, empowerment and transformation.

She served as mental health consultant to the US Consulate in Jerusalem, and developed programs in cross-cultural training, the glass ceiling, and management for executives in Israel’s public sector. She was the first female street gang worker in the City of Jerusalem.

In 1992 she fell ill with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Unable to work for many years, she learned to appreciate stillness in life and in nature. The combination of the long periods of stillness required by the illness, and the apartment overlooking the Lake led to her career in professional photography.

She is married and has four wonderful children. She can be contacted directly at tel/fax: 510-444-3820; sutta@earthlink.net
